style="text-align: justify;">Last night Tiger’s pitcher Armando Galarraga held a perfect game with one out to go in the ninth inning. He educed a ground ball that was thrown by Tiger’s first baseman Miguel Cabrera to Galarraga, covering at first base in time to get the out. Unfortunately, Umpire Jim Joyce blew the call.

When I first saw that, my immediate reaction wasn’t anger toward the umpire, although I can’t blame those who are angry, but sorrow for Galarraga.
