New York Yankees Sign Andy Pettitte to Minor League Deal in Puzzling Move

appears after one year of retirement, New York Yankees legend Andy Pettitte is making his comeback. The 39-year-old has signed a minor league deal, according to Jack Curry of YES Network.
 
The deal will be worth $2.5 million. However, as it's a minor league deal, Pettitte has no guarantee to make the big league roster.
 
Pettitte has been helping out as an instructor for the Yanks this spring. According to another Curry tweet, he has been mulling a return for a few weeks now.
 
This move is puzzling for both sides.
