Curtis Granderson’s Homer Lifts New York Yankees in Extra Innings

class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">Curtis Granderson’s leadoff home run in the top of the tenth inning off of Jonathan Papelbon broke a 1-1 tie, as New York won their second straight with a 3-1 victory over Boston Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

New York took two out of three from Boston after losing the first eight meetings to the Red Sox last season. Chan Ho Park (1-1) pitched three scoreless innings for the win while Papelbon (0-1) suffered the loss.

Granderson greeted Papelbon in the tenth inning with a home run into the right field bleachers. It was his second home run in three games after hitting a round-tripper in his first Yankee at-bat on Sunday.
