have talked to several Yankees fans online who have told me that they do not agree with a move to acquire Ubaldo Jimenez. I think that concerns about Jimenez are understood, as I have some as well. There is no doubt that Jimenez is the best pitcher on the market right now. The only starting pitcher who comes close is Hiroki Kuroda of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who would reportedly not waive his no-trade clause to go to an east coast team.
We all know how bad the current rotation is. There is CC Sabathia, who is a bona fide ace, and then five No. 4 or No. 5 starters behind him: AJ Burnett, Phil Hughes, Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia and Ivan Nova, who is in the minor leagues right now.
