Yankees Notes: Recap, Atkins, Mitre, All-Star Starter, LeBron James

style="text-align: justify;">Nick Swisher rewarded All-Star voters with a 4-for-4 night, Andy Pettitte pitched a brilliant eight innings, and Alex Rodriguez won the game with a two-out, two-RBI hit as the Yankees beat the Mariners 3-1 for their 6th consecutive victory.

Here are some notes:

Mike Silva got a tip that the Yankees may sign 3B Garrett Atkins to a minor league deal. Sergio Mitre will join the team immediately after the All-Star break. Even with 8 Yankee All-Stars, manager Joe Girardi is leaning toward using LHP David Price as his starter in the All-Star Game. CC Sabathia said he’s happy for his friend LeBron James, but feels sorry for the people of Cleveland.
