there is a conversation about the greatest and most notable names in Major League Baseball history, it won’t take long for someone to bring up Joe DiMaggio. 

Though he only played for 13 seasons—all for the New York Yankees—Joe DiMaggio is probably one of the most famous players ever to come through MLB.

It was on this day in 1936 that DiMaggio aka Joltin’ Joe aka The Yankee Clipper took the field for the first time tabbed as the next great Yankee and hitting in the three hole directly in front of Lou Gehrig.
