what could be a very bizarre situation, rumors have surfaced that Cliff Lee, who is scheduled to pitch against the New York Yankees later tonight, could be dealt by the Seattle Mariners to New York before weekend's end.
It may even be entirely possible that he flies out of the Pacific-Northwest and shows up in Anaheim for the All-Star Game in pinstripes.
Reports have New York sending top prospect Jesus Montero and Class AA second baseman David Adams to Seattle for the coveted southpaw.
The move seems to make sense for the Mariners. Seattle has made it clear that any deal involving Lee would have to include a top catching prospect in return.
Montero fills that need.
