New York Yankees: Hector Noesi Deserves a Shot in the Starting Rotation

Yankees pitching staff has suffered a ton of injuries in 2011.

They can now add another big name to the disabled list.

Bartolo Colon, who has been a major surprise and been pitching so well for the Yankees, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring. Colon was 5-3 with a 3.10 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched before being put on the disabled list Sunday.

Colon originally started the season in the bullpen as a long reliever, but when Phil Hughes was placed on the disabled list back in April with shoulder inflammation, Colon was immediately put in the rotation and did the job.

Now with the strained hamstring, the Yankees just have to hold their breath and hope the injury is not that serious ...
