Jeff Francoeur To the New York Yankees Would Make a Lot of Sense

Mets are trying to trade right fielder Jeff Francoeur due to Angel Pagan's solid play and Carlos Beltran's return.

The Mets acquired Francoeur just barely a year ago and after a solid second half last season, he has sputtered this year and has lost his starting gig.

Francoeur's problems have really only come against right-handed pitching, both this year and over the course of his career. He is sporting a .636 OPS this season and has a career .702 OPS vs. right-handed pitching. Against lefties, however, he has a .787 OPs this year and a .823 OPS for his career.

With the Yankees searching for a right-handed bat off the bench and Curtis Granderson being even worse against lefties than Francoeur against righties, the match seems to make ...
