Former Yankee and Current Brave Melky Cabrera Is Batting .195

style="text-align: justify;">Melky Cabrera was a homegrown, high spirited player, with knack for big hits late in games so it is only natural that fans be upset when he left. Many fans even held it against Javier Vazquez during the offseason and into the season swearing that the Yankees would regret the deal.

Well we’re getting close to the end of May here and Vazquez only has a couple of decent starts under his belt, but I think it’s safe to say the Yankees are not regretting trading the Melk-Man. Here are his numbers so far:

37 G, 113 AB, 10 R, 22 H, 4 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR, 8 RBI, 0 SB, 1 CS, 14 BB, 15 K’s, .195 BA, .283 OBP, .230 SLG, .514 OPS, 40 OPS+.
