Yankees Notes: Vazquez, Granderson, Pettitte’s Replacement, and More

Yankees were losing 2-1 going into the 8th inning against the Indians last night, but a two-run home run by Curtis Granderson put the Yankees up 3-2 for good.

Here are some notes:

Granderson—or G-Unit—has been red hot lately. Over the last 14 games he has a .346 average and a .951 OPS. He also has three homers in the last two days. Javier Vazquez notched another victory. He is 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA since June 1st. In the 8th inning Joe Girardi called on David Robertson , not Joba Chamberlain , in the 8th inning signaling that Joba has lost his role as the 8th inning reliever .
