New York Yankees: Raul Ibanez Has Been the $1.1 Million Bargain of 2012

Jorge Posada retired from the Yankees after the 2011 season, there was a lot of question marks surrounding the designated hitter spot.

At first, Jesus Montero was penciled in to be the DH. That was until he was traded to the Mariners in the Michael Pineda deal.

The Yankees wanted to go with a temporary solution for the spot. Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui and Vladimir Guerrero all came up as possibilities.

But in the end, the Yankees went with Raul Ibanez, signing him to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million back on February 20.

A lot of people didn't like the move because of Ibanez's age, but I was one of the few that was all for the deal.
