New York Yankees MLB Draft Results: Scouting Profiles for Every 2012 Pick

(6:13 PM ET): The New York Yankees have selected Matthew Snyder, 1B, Ole Miss, with the 10th Round, 337th pick of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.


It's been 20 years since the New York Yankees drafted a skinny, unassuming shortstop out of Kalamazoo (Mich) Central High School.

That shortstop, Derek Jeter, would become the face of the Yankees' franchise and lead them to five World Championships.

When the 2012 First-Year Player Draft opens up at 7 p.m., ET Monday, the Yankees will undoubtedly be looking towards Jeter as an ideal archetype for the 11 players they will pick over the three-day event.
