time to finally give Ivan Nova his due.
On Thursday night, Nova was basically auditioning for his spot in the starting rotation. With his performance, he's earned his spot.
Against the Chicago White Sox, Nova pitched 7.2 innings, allowed one run on six hits, walked none and struck out a career high 10 batters in a 7-2 win for the Yankees.
More impressively, Nova improves his record to 10-4 on the season with a 3.81 ERA.
It was his second straight impressive start since getting recalled from the minor leagues.
In his first game back from the minors on July 30 against the Baltimore Orioles, Nova went seven solid innings, allowing two runs on six hits and struck out six in a 17-3 route for the Yankees.
